I bought this radio and really like it. I did have one question, which was answered by the consumer-alerts guy on a local TV station . . . he said that the TV function wouldn't work after TV goes digital. But I still like this radio.
We have had our Eton FR 300 radio for about a week. It was intended mainly for use in power outages. However we like it so much that we listen to the local NWS forecast every day for a few minutes. It has excellent reception for all bands and has very high quality sound. It is easy to tune to different bands and we know that when future power outages come, this radio will be our communication medium. I highly recommend it for an emergency kit.
We live relatively close to a major metro area and cannot get any TV stations or weather stations on the radio. Some of the FM stations come in OK. Did not realize I had to order the cell phone cord separately until I read these reviews! LL Bean should put that info in the details of the product. However, I do like the crank feature for emergencies, which is why I'm keeping this.
