This is very easy to use and great for severe weather when you don't have power and need to rely on a radio. Impressed with it so far, and gratefully haven't had to use it for extreme weather yet.
I had a lesser model previously and the thing I did not like about it, is that it did not have the ability to receive the NOAA broadcast. That is probably the thing I like most about the FR-300. I have a regular weather radio, but if I have to go to the interior bathroom in the house when a storm comes, I can't take it with me. I have a Motorola Razor cell phone and was hoping to get an adapter for recharging it, but the manufacturer said that they did not have it for this particular phone and probably would not have in the future. I also think that the manufacturer of the FR-300 Weather Radio could leave off the siren. I see no purpose in it. Overall, I do like the FR-300 quite a bit. It could be very useful when needed.
This item has a cheap feeling the minute you pick it up. The buttons all feel like they are about to fall off and are so loose they rattle when the unit is shaken. The dials also have a cheap feel to them. It felt as if pieces would fly off if it was dropped from any hieght.
I don't think that the radio is worth what I paid for it. I was so disappointed with it's quality that I sent it back.
