The radio and its features are great! However, to charge your phone you have to order the cord that fits your phone, about $10. To charge the radio by AC, you have to order the AC adapter for about $20. You have to call the manufacturer to obtain these useful items. It would be nice if the AC adapter was included in the L.L. Bean price, or at least it was made available by L,L Bean.
Haven't had a need to use it for an emergency yet (thank goodness) but we "played" with it and we are pleased. My husband is a hard one to say he likes something and he likes this radio. All the functions worked as described.
Works great! Can pick up radio stations even my truck wont pick up. Cell phone charging port works well to get enough power into the phone for a short call or text. SOlar charging works great!!
Given all the disasters this spring, and due to a recommendation from a friend, I thought it advisable to buy one of these. Very nice - love that it has all available power sources. I use it every day while eating lunch and listening to NPR. I agree with other reviewers, it would have been nice to include an AC-adaptor with the radio - for the price paid.
