I ordered the wrong style boots for my daughter for Christmas 2009 and by the time I realized my error, these boots were sold out in her size.
We waited patiently for the winter 2010 merchandise to become available and as soon as we saw these boots were available, I launched the order.
The boots were shipped very quickly, even though they were supposed to be on backorder. Not exactly "edgy" in the fashion sense, nonetheless the fit is spot on and they appear to be very warm, durable and waterproof. Now my daughter is happy and ready to slog through the snow and slush of a New England winter.
Bottom line: my daughter loves her boots and I am very pleased with L.L. Bean customer service.
These boots are wonderful! I've lived in the eastcoast for a year now and finally bought a pair of snow boots. I have large and wide feet and they fit just right. I am normally a 10 but ordered a 9, so I would highly recommend ordering one size smaller then you normally do! The inside is very comfortable and warm, great boots but have yet to try them in the actually snow!
I love the look of these boots and the rubber/leather combination. Leather upper is sewn very well. However, the upper edges are not finished completely and the faux sheepskin was a surprise. I thought it would be real. I turned down the top and tongue to show the "sheepskin", but it was so thin and stiff it really looked fake. Also, the arch is high so I took the footbed out. Sorry to say it looked like a foam paper plate with some fuzzy stuff glued onto it. The boot fit better without the liner, but why would I spend the money... really disappointed, but quality is what I was looking for.
