It's a wonder I've been able to survive so many winters without these boots. So far, we haven't had much snow, but the mud, sleet, rain, and ice don't stand a chance against these boots - especially with foot warmers nestled in the toes. :-) Walking and moving about keeps your feet warm with normal socks, but if you'll be sitting or standing on cold ground for a while, you'll want those little hot packs.
This boot is very comfortable and fits well. As advertised, it is waterproof and very warm. My only complaint, and it's a huge one, is that the traction is very poor. On freshly plowed surfaces where only a skim of snow or ice remain, there is basically no traction at all and I have almost landed on my duff several times. For this reason only I would not recommend this boot.
I have to say the the L.L. Bean 10" shearling lined boot is by far the best boot that I've ever owned. They are great for the snow and especially the slush. My feet are kept dry and toasty warm!!! Thanks L.L. Bean for yet another fantastic product.
