I like these boots. Always have but for short people they are too tall. The shorter versions of the LLBean boots do not have dark brown nor are they insulated. Please make a petite version!
I liked these boots; they fit well and had great arch support, which is important to me because I have a very high arch. However, I sent them back. The tongue is not attached to the boot by a gusset, making it more likely that snow or rain will get in. I spend a lot of time outdoors, and hate having cold wet feet! If the tongue was attached, as it would be in hiking boots, these boots would be perfect.
Amazing boots! I ordered a size 7, I am normally a size 8 in all other brand shoes except Bean's; they fit perfectly with plenty of room for a medium woolly sock. The fleece lining does end around the ankle, but there is a wool blend lining in the bottom that keeps your toes warm. I was out in the woods with these for about 8 hours, right out of the box and they kept my feet warm, dry and no blisters even though they were not "broken in". The only not perfect part about these boots are the laces they come with, they are nylon and will not last as long as the boot. So I'll probably eventually have to buy some replacement laces ... NOT a big deal. (Maybe it's just that the boots last too long, I can see these boots lasting forever!) Another outstanding LL Bean product.
I ordered these because I already own the moccasin style (without the shearling) and was familiar with LL Bean's quality. The 10" style with shearling is extremely well-made, very comfortable and I am sure they will serve me well for many cold days in the future! I did see similar styles of these at another nationally known retailer and can tell you the quality wasn't nearly as great as the Bean boots. LOVE the fact they're made in the USA!
