I ordered these in white with Shearling lining. I have worn them in below zero temps on multiple occasions and my feet stayed warm and dry. I have Raynaud's so have to be very careful not to let my feet get cold. I'm also a Hospice nurse and need to get out in all sorts of weather to get to my patients when they need me. I can shovel my driveway, knock off the snow, drive in them and go into houses without worrying about tracking in a bunch of debris. I love these - they are perfect for me & I highly recommend them!!!
These are some of the most beautiful boots I have ever seen in my life, but if your feet are even somewhat small, I would recommend shopping in the children's section for boots. I am usually in the neighborhood of a 7, and I ordered a size 6 M. Even with two pairs of very thick wool socks there is still lots of room in the toe. The 6 is really more of an 8.
Apparently, until now, I've never had warm boots in my life, and I've always lived in strong winter climates (Michigan & New York). These boots are INCREDIBLE. Its been cold (20s) in NYC, and I've been walking around the city in these, wearing only a thin cotton sock with them and my feet have NEVER BEEN COLD! Not even chilly! Also, first boots where I don't sweat in them either so you don't get warm and then freeze. I can't believe I waited so long to invest in these. They're incredible. I'm sure when it gets colder, or I go playing in the snow, I'll prefer wearing a thicker sock, or if I'm going to be out all day, I'd put on a wool one, but man, I am SO impressed. The one negative I will mention is that the boots can be a bit slippery on slick metal/paint in the streets. So I would consider getting the "grips" to attach to the bottom for slick icy days. This has gotten better as I've broken them in.
Love these boots keeps my feet warm and dry ordered the Sherpa liner. Fits true to size. Thank you LL Bean for your outstanding products and excellent customer service. :)
