I LOVE these boots. I have wanted white since I saw them on Kikkan Randall and her team!!!!! I always take a size 8 in boots, shoes, sneakers...flip flops :) etc. and with these boots, I had to order a 7M as they run long. The 7 fits perfectly with regular winter socks. If you are torn as to what color to order, the white is amazing, it looks so classy and feminine. I also get so many compliments on them (from guys AND gals), even my Husband loves them and he usually hates my shoes LOL. You can wear them laced up with skinny jeans or leave them open and folded down, they look cute either way. When I ordered these, they were on back order for two months and to my surprise, they shipped one day later! I was elated :D Thanks LL Bean, you rock as always. These boots are so well made, the quality of the leather is superb and you can see what care is taken creating each pair. Don't wait everyone, order your white boots soon, you will be missing out if you can't get them!!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
I have wanted white boots and was excited to find these. They seemed awfully expensive, but I decided to go for it and order them. They came really fast - like a week before they said to expect them. I put them on without the laces as soon as I opened the package, and they seemed too long. I was going to return them, but today I decided to try again. This time I laced them up and tried them on with my regular socks. They still felt a bit large, but I thought that they would be OK. Then I put on my heavy socks, and wow, they fit perfectly. But my feet felt kind of cold. Then I realized that I had laced them too tightly. Once I loosened the laces, my feet warmed right up, and have stayed warm. Based on some other reviews, I have purchased the fleece insoles which are on back order until January. I bet that once they come, these boots will fit perfectly with my lighter socks. I love how they look, and they seem to be extraordinarily well made. LLBean wins again !!!
I LOVE these boots!!! My feet are always freezing and these boots actually keep me warm! Not only do they make walking across campus more comfortable (although sometimes I do need to add thicker socks), I look cute doing it. They keep my feet dry and warm, even if I'm trudging through unfortunate amounts of snow. I highly recommend these to anyone who, like myself, finds themselves wondering if perhaps while walking in the snow, their feet fell off a few feet back and they just couldn't feel it happen. If your feet get extra cold in the winter, you NEED these boots!
I moved to Ann Arbor MI, from sunny Santa Cruz California this year for graduate school, and needed a few winter necessities. Wow, these boots are amazing! I waited until the snow hit, which was early this year, to review these boots. I am more than pleased. Infact, I also purchased a pair of the ginormous sorel Joan of Arctic boots, and believe it or not these boots are significantly warmer than the sorels are! I'm so impressed; these boots are both attractive and incredibly warm. I can't wear them during fall weather (40 degrees and up) because they are just too warm, and that is what the unlined bean boots are for. I wear these with heavy wool socks, so I only ordered one size down. With regular socks I would have needed to order two sizes down as I did with my unlined bean boots. These are so worth the price, and with ll bean's return policy, you really can't go wrong.
