Sheepskin
PostedAugust 28, 2014
The sheepskin should be covering the whole interior of the feet area. No sheepskin in the feet area makes the feet freeze. I had to add a sheepskin insole on top and at the bottom to make them warm enough. Socks alone don't do it for Canadian winters.

As described
PostedAugust 20, 2014
Just purchased these as I am moving to Iowa to attend college. They fit great and with heavy socks. I am normally a size 7.5, but I ordered an 8 in NarrowAA and they feel snug enough with a little wiggle room. I have yet to experience them in weather conditions like snow and the cold. But it seems that they will do the job. Overall wonderfully made, comfy and light-weight. I highly recommend.

Brilliant Boots!
PostedAugust 11, 2014
I am absolutely thrilled with these boots! I purchased these boots in brown last Christmas and I am so glad I did because it turned out that I would had plenty of snowy days to try them out! They are sturdy, practical shoes, and my feet stayed warm and dry all day. I also found them to be really comfortable and quite cute- I received a lot of compliments when I wore them with skinny jeans. They quickly became my go-to shoe choice this past winter with all the snow and slush, even in places that are definitely more urban than rural. I only have two complaints about the boots: I had to buy them two sizes smaller than I usually do (my running shoes are a size 10 and these boots are a size 8), and the laces on the boots are too short. Nevertheless, the positive qualities of these boots definitely outweighed the negatives for me. I highly recommend them!

Tongue is not gusseted; closure cut too short
PostedJune 11, 2014
I was surprised by how narrow the lace up area was, and how short the laces were. Also, I was unable to pull the strings in tight enough for the two sides of the boot to cover the tongue, wearing medium weight socks, and I don't have a big calf. I have a shorter version of snow boots I purchased 25 years ago from another outerwear clothing store; I can tuck my pants in, and still string up the boots properly. I intended to wear the LL Bean boots for walking and shoveling snow in our brutal New England weather, but with the way these are constructed, the snow would make its way inside the boot without a gusseted tongue. They are obviously lovely boots made in a fashionable winter white leather, the workmanship is high quality, and otherwise very comfortable. The shearling lining is so very warm and soft and comfortable, but my disappointment lies in the construction details. I returned the boots because I honestly need a tall, properly-constructed, comfortable, shearling-lined boot for the winter months because the snow just doesn't seem to be letting up.
