I have been searching a long time for comfortable, warm, waterproof boots for walking my dog in our cold, snowy Minnesota winters. These are the perfect boots for a harsh winter. I ordered my regular size 8 and wear wool socks with these boots and they fit perfectly. They do run a tiny bit large with regular socks. The shearling adds a lot of warmth. It took a few wearings for the boot leather and laces to conform to my shins but now the fit is quite good. They are stylish with skinny jeans. Thank you LL Bean for making such fantastic boots.
We usually love LLBean and I like the look of the boot - but parts of the stitching seemed to come off and inside the boot you can feel the bulk of the stitching line and that created an uncomfortable feeling - I tried 2 sizes too because I was unsure what to order - neither size fit perfectly. Again, love the look etc. but it just did not translate for me -
I've been checking back for these boots to come back in stock in black pretty regularly and I was finally rewarded for my persistence a few days ago. I normally wear a 7.5 and I wear an 8 in running shoes. Based on other reviews, I ordered a size 7 regular width. They arrived today and went directly onto my feet (despite temperatures in the mid 60s). The fit is perfect with a thin pair of socks. I imagine they'd be a bit snug with hefty pair of thick wool socks, but that might change with wear as the lining compresses. They feel very warm (too warm for weather in the 60s) and aren't as bulky as my other snow boots. I trudged around the backyard in the rain doing some yard work and my feet stayed dry. The forecast calls for temps in the 30s tomorrow. I think Mother Nature approves of the boots and wants to give them a try.
I ordered these boots early winter and they are everything I hoped for in a bean boot. I ordered the size I normally wear but even with heavy winter socks the boots were too big so I returned them for a size down. They are incredibly warm and comfortable to trek around in. Customer service was outstanding. I ordered the boots over the phone straight from a store and they were at my house in 2 or 3 days. There was some mix-up with shipping addresses and the wonderful people at customer service made sure I had my boots when I needed them. Big big fan.
