Usually wear a 10 wide ordered a 10 Regular. Perfect fit. Out of the box and out to the snow. NO break in! They are light enough for extended walking or should I say slogging thru the snow. Buy these you will love them!
I have been wanting these boots forever! Have had three foot surgeries and from the moment they arrived they fit great, are comfortable and I love them. They had been on back order for a bit, but worth the wait. Have lots of snow here in northern Michigan and they are warm. I do agree with other comments that the toe area is a little cooler than the rest of the boot however. Size 10 fit my narrow feet just fine even if I wanted thicker socks on. I would speak highly of these boots to others!
I've been wearing these boots in Chicago for the past few months and I'm very pleased with how well they're performed. It's been a particularly harsh winter this year in Chicago and I'm outside walking almost every day in the cold and snow. My feet get cold easily and these boots have kept my feet warm, dry and comfortable. The tread on these boots is more substantial than other duck boots I own, and I've never had a problem with my feet getting wet or cold while walking through slush or snow. The only time my feet were a little cold in these boots was on a day when the wind chill was -25. Other than that, my feet have never been warmer during the winter. I originally ordered my usual size but found that they were too big, even when wearing thick socks. So, I sized down one full size (medium B width) and wear the boots with medium weight socks, which keeps my feet plenty warm.
I hesitated to buy such expensive boots but these are truly lifetime boots. I waited until the snow to try out when cleaning my car. My feet were warm and toasty with cotton boot socks. My only problem is that the shoelaces are too small. I can't lace to the top. Only to the holes one below. But even so, it doesn't affect the fit or comfort. I did have to get used to the time it takes to lace up to get on and lace down to get off. I bought a size 6W, as I wear a 7-71/2, depending on the shoe. The size is perfect. Thanks LL Bean!
