Bought these because apparently they are llbeans warmest boots ... not so! They were very expensive and not worth it. They are waterproof but that's about it. They run a size big which would have been nice if they noted that on their site.
I was so excited to get these boots. I am currently living in Romania and didn't have any winter clothing over here so my mom brought me these boots and sent them to me. They are the only winter shoes I have so I wear them all day, everyday. They are cute, that's why I liked them in the first place but they weren't made to be wore all day. I have to double up on my fleece socks because my feet don't stay warm in these boots. The inside bottom lining of my boots fell out which isn't a big deal but for the money that was spent on these boots, I expected them to be better.
I bought these boots because they seemed to be a great solution for snowy days , the temperature chart says "warmer /-20". Well, they functioned fine for light snow / short distances until I decided to go out in deeper snow for a couple of hours at 17F, I had to nearly be carried to the car thats how cold my toes were, extremely painful, while the rest of my body was fine. I thought maybe there was something wrong with me until I just read some of the not so glowy reviews. The insoles are really cheap and it feels like you are stepping on the bottom rubber directly, short laces that wont allow you to wear it "fully laced" as advertised. Big disappointment. PS: I was wearing a pair of wool ski socks!!!
I've had these boots on my wishlist for several years; a few weeks ago I received them for my birthday and was thrilled! I got my normal size, 9N, which fits perfectly. I was somewhat concerned about reviews that said they don't keep your toes warm, since I'm susceptible to cold feet, but as long as I can wiggle my toes I'm usually fine. And when worn with a medium thickness wool sock I can do just that. The toe box is indeed insulated, though I don't think it's shearling; definitely not that thick, and feels more like fleece or flannel. As a final test, I wore them yesterday for a couple hours in the snow in low-teen temps and my feet stayed toasty! Looking forward to more snow!!
