Bought these after reviewing many similar shoes to deal with NYC/NJ snow and sleet situation. These boots serve the purpose well and keep my feet warm for the most part. True to size. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the leather is a tad bit hard. It took many a walks to get used to it, and for the leather to adjust to the shape of my feet and calves. Overall, a good purchase!
I live in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a place where the winters are not for the faint of heart. Since I moved here in 2005, I've been searching for a pair of boots that kept my feet warm, dry and were completely functional. Earlier this year, my husband bought me these boots as a wedding gift (which is not a traditional wedding gift, I realize), because I had been lusting after them for awhile. Well, now we're fully in the depths of winter here and these have really proved their worth. My feet are warm and dry and the boots have held up to the snow/cold/ice/slush! They are incredible and I have been recommending them to everyone. I'm so sad I waited so long to try a pair out!!! Thank you LL Bean for a wonderful, functional wedding gift!
I needed warm, practical boots for cold, snowy Colorado weather. These are fantastic AND great looking. For me, they ran almost a full size large. I wear a 9, I ordered size 8 and can wear them with my wool socks. I would rather have gone up 1/2 size to wear even thicker socks, but only full sizes were available. Unlike leather, these won't stretch out so you definitely don't want to order them too small. These are wonderful boots and classically good looking. I also appreciate that I had a card from Scott, my bookmaker. How cool is that?! I support made in America and love that these are still made in the traditional manner. Great product at a fair price.
I bought these boots because my rainboots, no matter how warm my socks were, couldn't cut it in the snow here in New England. My boots arrived today during a winter snowstorm and I immediately tried them out. My feet were so warm and dry after a mile's walk in the snow. The look is great--classic, and I love that you can wear them laced all the way up or halfway. I definitely recommend them!
