These boots keep my feet toasty and are comfortable with or without heavy socks. Have the wide size. Thanks LL Bean for offering the wide. Can't beat your customer service.

Good Boot But Not Very Warm
PostedDecember 12, 2013
This is a sturdy, well made boot that definitely does a good job of keeping feet dry. It does not live up to its description of "warmer to minus 20 degrees." I shoveled snow for 90 minutes, at a temperature of 8 above, a few days ago, wearing a pair of thick Omni-wool socks with these boots, and my feet were very cold long before I finished the snow removal job. The shearling lining in the upper part of the boot, with only a thin layer of thinsulate in the foot, is backwards. I don't need shearling to keep my legs warm. I have long thermal underwear and flannel lined jeans for that. When spending time outdoors in frigid winter climates, a good effective lining in the foot part of the boot is needed. I would recommend this boot for 20 degrees above zero, not below, as claimed by the boot description.
