I purchased these boots back in September because I heard from several people to order them as quickly as possible because there have been problems with backordering. I live in PA and have been wearing them for the past month and a half and all I have to say is that these boots are PERFECT. They are so soft and warm and they have no "break in" time. The leather on mine hasn't fully softened up yet but that's not a problem. They look rugged and beautiful, exactly as they do in the picture. The craftsmanship on these boots is stunning, it looks so well put together which is exactly what I would expect from this company.
I chose brown just because I felt it's more soft and neutral and I could easily match more outfits with it. I've received so many compliments already! Every time I wear them on campus several people approach me asking where I got these boots. Not to mention, my college campus has a lot of hills and valleys and I've had no trouble walking in these boots through all of that. They are honestly the softest on the inside and when it gets really cold I wear them with wool socks and my feet are practically sweating. They protect against rain and sleet as well. One of my girlfriends was wearing a pair of Hunters to a football game and when we removed our shoes in our apartment her socks were soaking wet and mine were totally dry.
Despite how it looks, it's actually a relatively light boot. I know some reviews were complaining about not being able to tie the laces all the way but I think it looks more fashionable like that. These are my first bean boots and I hope to get more in the future! Just for sizing information, I'm usually a 7 1/2 or an 8 and I have somewhat wide feet. I got the 7 regular and it fits perfectly with both light socks and my wool socks from LL Bean as well. BUY THESE BOOTS YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
These are pretty expensive boots and it took me quite awhile to justify the expense. I was worried that they would be stiff around the ankles, They are not. At work I am in and then back out of the building often and I was afraid that these boots would be almost stifling when worn inside and/or not warm enough when outside. I was comfortable all day long, both inside and outdoors. My feet were kept completely dry which is extremely important AND even when the first time I wore them was for a for a ten hour work day my feet did not hurt a bit. These boots are awesome.
