This was my first purchase from L.L. Bean and I am more than pleased. I love the shearling lining and the fit is great. I read in other reviews to order a size smaller than I usually wear which I was very grateful to have read because it is absolutely true. I have worn them snowshoeing and they are light-weight which I appreciate but kept my feet warm. I am definitely happy with my purchase and am hoping they hold up through many seasons!
These boots were expensive, but worth it. They kept me warm and dry through a snowstorm, and they're really great-looking to boot. Ha! Also, I didn't know LL Bean shipped so quickly. They came in like two days.
I purchased these for a trip to Russia and South Korea in the winter. I was looking for a pair of good quality snow boots that were: water proof, easy to walk in (with good support), and extremely warm. These boots were both very waterproof and easy to walk in (I used them as a my primary walking and hiking shoes). However, the toe is lined with Thinsulate instead of shearling like the rest of the boot. Thinsulate is no where near as warm as shearling. I really struggled to keep my toes warm in these boots once the temperatures dropped below 10 degrees F. Extra layers of socks did not do the trick. It is too bad that the toe is not lined with shearling and the rest lined with Thinsulate, instead of the other way around.
We purchased a cabin in Blue Ridge Ga and wanted warm winter boots for cold wet weather outdoors with our very active dogs. Surprised my husband with a pair, as well as for myself. They run large as most reviews indicate - I ordered 1 size down for both pair and then are perfect. Snowed the first time warn and they were amazingly warm with lightweight socks. The leather is a bit stiff initially, but I can tell they will wear in well. There are specific and unusual instructions for lacing them to 'turn down' and expose the shearling lining. I am slender but athletic and if I lace them all the way up it is a chore to get them off. Other than that, we both could not be more pleased with the quality and comfort and they are stylish - Women's Blk on Blk!
