I normally wear a 7.5 - 8 Wide. I ordered a 7 Wide after reading other reviews that suggested ordering down a size. The size of the footbed was spot on for me. The Wide Width is actually a wide (yay!).
The issue I have with the boots is that even though the footbed was sized perfectly, the shaft of the boot was not widened at all. So when I laced up the boots, immediately the laces were way too short to make it to the top and then when I put my foot in the boot to tighten the laces and tie it up, the tongue didn't meet the sides at the top and I still couldn't get the laces to the top holes. I wouldn't say my legs are huge, but there is some muscle there. Seems they didn't fit the shaft of the boot for us traditional New England women. ;)
I love the look and functionality of these boots. Besides looking good, they're comfortable so I use them both for going to classes at university and walking the dog in the winter, but not for serious snow sports. The construction is quality and the shearling and leather are comfortable. The one thing I don't like (and to be fair I read this is a review before I bought them) is that the bottom insole isn't shearling and slides around a bit, so that would definitely be an improvement that could be made to these boots to make them warmer and even more comfortable.
LLBean Sherling Lined Boot... This is the second pair these I have purchased. One in the actual store in Freeport when we visited this fall for my 18yr old daughter. They were such a hit that I ordered a pair for my 16yr old daughter for Christmas. Thisis a great boot, waterproof, warm, fit well and stylish for any age. Yes, I would recommend these to someone and yes I probably will be ordering a pair for me soon. Thanks LLBean, for yet another great product!
