I bought these for my daughter. It's what the kids in college are wearing. I'm so glade because I know at least her feet will be warm. (I won a pair myself).
well, because a lot more than the unenhanced LLB boot options. also I'm in NYC and so not much need to justify these boots. I use the LLB gumshoes and have in the past found the LLB boot options abrasive to my thin ankles. but these shearling lined needed no break in at all and i forgot how nice it is to feel the warmth of any footwear that covers the ankle. these are so cozy warm and if by any chance it gets really frigid in NY I'd just add the shearling insole offered separately. they look really nice too. I wear a 9 in LLB boots very comfortably having a 9.5 inch thin foot.
i bought a pair of these because i had always liked the way they looked. i expected them to be a good boot for wearing to work...easy on and off...and for doing errands. but it turns out that these are my favorite all around winter boots! supportive and toasty warm enough for a subzero hike in the snow, sledding, ice fishing...these are serious boots, my friends! my concern that the tongue would not keep the snow out was unfounded as well; in two feet of fresh powder, nothing snuck in anywhere. A M A Z I N G! buy them! and get lacing hooks! (you'll have to call and order, worth every cent of the 1.50 extra!)
