I've wanted bean boots since I was a kid and finally bought a pair, but... 10" was not tall enough for snow here, I'd still have to wear gaiters; they were real bulky in the ankles; I feared they wouldn't keep my toes warm; I feared they wouldn't work with my snowshoes. The black is cute though and for Connecticut errands these would have been great, but not for Colorado back-country. Oh well.
I havent yet wore these boots yet in the snow/rain but once I got them in the mail and tried it on it was so comfortable! At first I was hesitant on spending that much money on these boots but i think its WELL WORTH IT. What persuade me to get them is that it is made in US. Quality is definitely top notch. Shearling is up and down the shaft area only so I dont know exactly how it would hold up in the cold weather. I usually wear a sz 7.5-8 in boots and I got a sz 7 and its perfect. it will be good with thick socks during the winter. I can't wait til the SNOW comes! Cant wait! I gave it a 4/5 stars because theres no shearling around the toe area..
LL Bean recommended buying a size smaller, since they run large. I did and they fit perfectly. They are very comfortable and warm. My mom bought a pair 25 years ago, (didn't have the shearling lined back then) that she still wears in the winter. I'm looking forward to having these for the rest of my life!
Selected these women's boots for warmth and waterproof features but found them surprisingly stylish. Great fit and am looking forward to the first snowfall in MA.
