I love these boots and I'll explain why. You older gals will appreciate this. I'm just shy of 60. I have RA, my feet have neuropathy and swell up through the day...these boots are cut nice and wide. My feet stay warm and dry. I've been through mud and muck so far. Not only that, but I feel like I'm walking on temperpedic mattresses! They put a bounce in my step!! I wear them with my jeans tucked in and they make me feel young again! I love them! And guess what? At the end of the day, when I take them off, my socks are just barely damp! My feet don't sweat in them at all!! I truely love them, can't say enough about them. But that's just me. I love living in upstate NY...the cold and the snow!! They are worth every single penny!!
I have been stalking the ll bean site for a few weeks looking at bean boots and really did like the look of the bison leather with the red bottoms but I wanted shearling and it was backordered. Along comes a new addition last week with the all black tumbled leather shearling lined 10" boots that were available immediately. I took the plunge and they arrived today, and they are so comfortable right out of the box. The tumbled leather is very soft. I did have Ugg boots until my new puppy destroyed them last winter and I was debating getting another pair but for almost the same price I have shearling, comfort, and better traction and support from the bean boots. I did order the shearling insert as well as the lining isn't in the insole. Very pleased so far.
SIZING: I am between a 7.5 and 8. I ordered a size 7M and fit perfectly with room for a heavy sock. WARMTH: Even with a light sock the shearing(lamb fur) keeps me really warm. With a heavy sock go outside for hours in the snow. Perfect for my transition from Miami to DC lifestyle. COMFORT: The arch support is great and elevation of the foot is perfect. STYLE: it's easy to pair with grey wool coat, olive light quilted coat and navy down coat because it's SOLID BLACK gives more room to mix and match freely. ORDER: order in the summer because back orders happen ever winter but I understand, the quality of the boot is amazing. You can't rush a quality product.
