I normally wear 7 1/2 or 8's so, I bought 8's. I had to send them back and get 7's. They were way too big. 7's are perfect with thick or thin socks. They even look really cute folded over! And they are sooo comfortable and cozy. Definitely order a size down!

I am a Buffalo Bills season ticket holder, so we brave some nasty weather while tailgating before the game. To make matters worse, we park in a neighboring lot (read: Wet, Sloppy, Muddy, Icy, Snowy conditions). I had bought a pair of 'trendy' boots, that are supposed to keep your feet warm and dry even 'on the mountains.' They were NOT waterproof, and I was miserable and out $120. I bought these boots with the sole purpose of keeping me warm AND MORE IMPORTANTLY dry at these games. They are absolutely worth the price...my feet were toasty warm, dry and happy! And to make them look even 'cooler', I lace them up about halfway, then just fold the tongue out a little with pants tucked in! And LLBean...I would pay $200 or more for some with colored leather, like dark red, dark pink, turquoise, light moss green, etc. So Great!! ALSO, very important...Order a whole size smaller. Seriously. I normally take a 9.5-10 shoe size in women's, and sent back the 9's because they were HUGE. I got the 8's and fit perfectly because I could even wear them with thick ski socks and would be fine.
I purchased these because I wanted a boot to wear in the snow that I didn't have to worry about getting wet (like my suede Ugg knock-offs), and I wanted something that was warm, and had some traction. These fit all the requirements! They do run large. I normally wear a 9-9.5, and purchased an 8, and they are comfortable with heavy wool socks. They can be worn up, or rolled down, and the instructions for rolling down are included. I found them to be quite stiff, and when I rolled them down, didn't like the look as they stuck out because of the stiffness. So, I modified the roll-down - I laced up to the fourth hole, wrapped around the back as suggested, then put the laces through the tongue, while leaving the back up. Problem solved, and I like the look! Very comfy, cozy, and warm. When I ordered them, I was notified I wouldn't receive them until January. Received them mid-December, so that was an unexpected and pleasant surprise! As I said in the title, "So Far, So Good!"
At first, I was afraid that dropping down a size (as recommended) result in boots that were too small! After wearing them a few times, though, and loosening up the leather, I am happy to say that my new boots are wearable with both lighter socks (roomy, but not so much that my feet feel insecure or that they'll fall out) and with heavier winter socks (quite cozily).
I've worn them in the Michigan freezing rain and snow, and so far, so good. People have stopped, in the snow, to tell me they like my boots.
My one complaint is that the insole of the boot is not shearling and is one of those annoying paper thin insoles that comes out every time I take the boots off. The boots are comfortable enough without adding an additional insole, which makes it more irritating that the original one won't just stay in!
Small problem, though, for a boot that promises to last a long time.
