ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
I recently moved to New York City and lost my old LL Bean boots. I previously had the shorter duck boots, but decided to splurge and buy the 10'' shearling lined dark brown boots. I was so happy that I made the change to the warmer and taller boots! I have worn them in rain, snow, and warmer weather and my feet have stayed content in all! If I could I would wear them around the house as slippers - that's how comfortable they really are! I took the advice that the boots run a bit big and ordered a size down, and they fit perfectly, even with wool socks underneath. If you're considering buying the boots stop and just buy them!

I originally purchased the Maine Hunting Boots, and the coordinating insulated liners/booties, but the two didn't fit right together. The decision to get these was spot-on! They are so warm, and true-to-size. I purchased 8-Narrow (my actual size for any shoes without high heels), even though I fit the 7 & 1/2 hunting boot, and the length is perfect with thick/winter socks. Therefore, I do not recommend dropping down a size with this shoe before ordering. I added hooks for the additional minimal cost, and it's worth it! I often have to stand in freezing/rainy weather, waiting at commuter bustops, and these do the trick. They are waterproof, as promised, and keep my lower legs warm. They are worth the money and I would definitely buy these again!
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected, great look
bought these about 2 months ago and so far they have been the BEST winter boots I've ever owned, I even convinced my fiance to buy them too. Super warm and comfortable, I have been wearing them even with no snow in the ground.
A lot of reviewers have been saying that they run large but snow boots are supposed to be a bit roomy, A. for heavier socks and B. the space between your foot and the wall of the boot is where warm air is generated keeping your foot toasty, so order your normal size.
I hoped that I'll like the boots, and I did until I put them on. They DO run large, so don't try to account for thick socks as I did. I normally wear size 8.5, but for winter footwear I always order size 9 because I like my feet to feel toasty. But the size 9 in these boots was way too large even with thick socks. If this would have been the only problem, I would just reorder and get size 8, but the biggest problem for me was too narrow shaft. I wish LLBean indicate the circumference for boots as many other sites do. When I laced up, the side flaps of the boots just barely reached the middle flap, so I guess the snow will get inside very easily. And by the way, my calf is not skinny, but not too fat either. Also, the laces are way too short as other reviewers mentioned. I guess these boots are intended to be worn with the top bent down, but they are not that cute to wear them like this. I think everybody who buys them does it for walking in deep snow. Anyway, I am sending the boots back and have to look for something else.
