My feet are always cold and I really wanted a pair of boots that would be warm on my feet but be able to get through the salt, sand, snow, puddles that is common for the NE winters. I see the girls in the uggs and I think that is a really expensive boot that can't handle bad weather. Isn't that when you'd want to wear it? When I saw these it was love at first sight. I owned the gortex ones YEARS ago when I was ridding horses in the bitter cold (where were they then?)I loved these boots they go through very large icy puddles, keep my feet dry and most importantly warm. I highly recommend getting a pair. Yes they are not pretty but when your in feet of snow and salty puddles and you have warm dry, feet does it really matter?
I bought these for my wife who is very pleased with them. Very comfortable and fit well. It's too early to vouch for their durability but they seem well made.

These shoes are wonderful. During the huge freak October snowstorm that just hit the east coast these shoes saved my life. They are warm, waterproof, and I felt like I could walk in them for ages. I will say that they are very very large. I normally wear a size 7.5/8 and after reading the reviews I ordered a size 7 medium. They are actually still a bit big for me, but with thick socks it's not very noticeable. I'm also thinking a size 6 would be too small. Anyway - these shoes are great. I highly recommend.
