Classic style, great quality! I most always wear an 8.5 and ordered these in a 7 based on previous reviews. Even with thick socks they fit perfect so order at least a size down.
I am a true size 9 and ordered an 8...they fit perfectly with thick socks. I am in awe at how comfortable these are, I can't wait to go for long winter walks in them. I am a bit surprised that the tongue isn't attached, however (I think this should be noted in the description). I'm concerned that they won't be waterproof when I walk through tall snow. I guess I'll just have to lace them up really tight. I suppose the other styles would be more waterproof, but I just like the way these look much more. Can't wait to really test them out!
The shoes themselves are great, the product is great, the craftsmanship, etc. But they are huge! I am usually a size 6 and since it didn't go lower I bought a 6. Again, they are HUGE! If you usually wear a 6 and have small feet, you are out of luck, don't waste your money. I ended up keeping mine because I just moved to the east coast from California and have nothing else, but after a second insole and thick socks and tight lacing, you can still tell that your foot doesn't fit. Otherwise, what everyone else said. Cute, comfy, warm, etc.
ProsDurable, Great Value, Comfortable, Performing as Expected
First, the boots were delivered within three days of my order being placed--kudos to LLBean shipping!
I fell in love with these boots when I first saw them online, and am even MORE in love now that I own them. The 10" height is just right, and the shearling liner is very smooth. Despite how they may appear, they are the perfect weight--heavy enough to feel durable on the foot but does not feel as though I am lugging around with bricks on my feet!
I recommend ordering a full size down, which still allows for thicker socks to be worn comfortably (though I doubt you'll need your woolies with these!). I regularly a size 8 and the 7s allow me just the right amount of room to be comfortable.
Finally, a variety of styles is allowable with this boot. They can be fully laced up, rolled down, or, as I prefer them, laced up halfway, giving me a more relaxed look while still protecting me from the rain, snow, and cold. The first night I got them I wore them in a Northern VA downpour and I couldn't be happier with their performance.
The short of it, BUY EARLY! You do not want to miss out on these amazing boots!
