durable, nice styling, well thought out functionality. this is a great bag! Only caveat is if you are hauling 10" of paper home a night and a laptop, capacity is decent but not huge.
I was a little surprised at the color (I got the brown) when I opened the box because the bag looked darker online and it's a little more orange/brown in real life, but that's not a bad thing, just a matter of expectations.
All in all it's a great bag, with room for both a 13 inch laptop and an iPad, plus cables, two eye-glass cases, a notebook and sundry other stuff. It looks great (got my first compliment yesterday) and the leather is good quality.
The latch can be a little tricky but I'm having fewer issues with it than I expected from reading some other reviews. Not really a problem for me.
I purchased this in order to carry my nook, i-pod, pc, etc. when I went to my husband and son's skating events. This is absolutely the perfect size bag to fit multiple items into, and has nice organizational fetures. The bag looks much more expensive than it costs and I have had many compliments on it. The clasp is a bit touchy and works best if you lenthen the strap when carrying a large load. I purchased both the brown and black and am keeping the black. The brown looked a bit too rustic for my taste and looked like a man's briefcase instead of a fashionable woman's bag. I would definitely recommend this bag, just make sure to check the measurements to see if it will hold your particular items.
I purchased this bag for use on long haul (anything over 10 hours) flights. I am an experienced distance traveller and pride myself on travelling light. The bag, while made very well, is too heavy for the very small amount it carries and the leather is so thick (durable) that it does not "give." The clasp issue was minor but VERY annoying when the bag opened unexpectedly - usually after a minor bump or being put down face first. This bag would probably work well if you are travelling by car and don't need to carry it as it is well designed for local type needs - cell phones, ipads, pens, papers, Kindle, etc. While I gave the bag a "1" rating I must give LL Bean a "10+" for accepting the return of the bag after I took it to Asia for over a month. I will continue to shop at LL Bean because of the excellent and friendly service.
