This was too small for my husband's use. It's really not big enough to be a briefcase, which is what he needed. It's more the size of a purse, which, you know, men don't really need. I have a coach leather briefcase and it's bigger than this. Adding a few more inches in width, depth and height (just 1-2 each way), it would be a very useful, well priced item. This mostly can hold a few things like keys and phone and then maybe a book, but not really papers or folders. So, again, just too small. I returned it. I'll order him another canvas messenger bag I guess for now.
I have been looking for a convenient leather work bag for years, and this one meets my daily demands. It is professional and very functional with a generous amount of space. And it is so well-built, I have no worries that I will still be using it years from now. Regarding the latch, I had similar problems as other reviewers, but I simply adjusted the latch belt, giving out more length when my bag is stuffed, and that seems to have done the trick. When I need to ensure that the bag remains closed, I added a latch hook to keep it shut. Initially a minor issue, but not a reason for me to return such a beautiful, sturdy bag.
I have been using my bag since Aug 2005! It's a great bag and can handle everything I need to carry. I agree with the other reviewers as it should have a "padded" section on the leather strap. Once you load this bag up with stuff, it is VERY heavy! The leather is beautiful but the clasp lets go quite often when the bag is loaded! It needs a more sturdy clasp! Other than that I love the bag and would recommend it highly!
