Soft, cute fit, but gets little balls on it

I love the color, softness and shaping/fit of this fleece. However the first time I washed it, it came out of the wash covered in little balls as if it was years old.

I love, love, love my fleece pullovers. I ordered three and am happy with all three colors. I wish I could order one in every color. They are warm and comfortable and your service in getting them to me quickly was awesome!
