I have about 5 of these and would like to have several more, but I'm not tempted by the current colors. There used to be a Christmas green, bright red, cream, several versions of blue, dark brown, etc. Why the limited offerings now? I wash mine in cold water, delicate cycle, zipped up and inside out, no fabric softener, dried flat and they look exactly like new after many years. Treat it well and it will perform beautifully. Perfect weight for indoors when conserving energy (we're at 62 degrees and the warmth is ideal.) Why would anyone care if it pills on the INSIDE? Soft, warm, good price, durable, flattering...just need new colors. These are a bit dowdy.
I never travel without a fitness fleece. Usually I take one of the jackets, but for my last trip (3 weeks in Europe) I ordered a quarter-zip thinking it would pack a little lighter and look a bit sleeker. I was right on both counts. I wore it every day! With just a lightweight merino tee underneath, it was perfect in 65-74° temperatures. In basic black, it could go anywhere.
I absolutely love this top. The ones I purchased two years ago still look nice so I highly recommend this. Some of the reasons I prefer this top over others by similar outdoor wear manufacturers are 1. The feminine shaping which makes it fit without clinging and prevents the boxy look that some fleece tops have 2. A nice lightweight fleece that is great for layering 3. The fabric holds up to repeat laundering. 4. It's not too hot when I'm doing my long runs but it's still cozy enough in cold weather. 5. It folds up small and light so it's great to pack on a trip. I purchased the turquoise this time. It was a little more muted than I expected but it's still pretty. Some reviewers have mentioned pilling. My advice is to wash it as a colored item and to line dry. I simply put mine on a hanger and put it over the shower rod. It dries very quickly
I have arthritis in my neck, so need something warm and soft around it, but many turtlenecks are too tight. This quarter-zip is perfect! Fleece material is wonderful--washes great too. I have 2 of these, will be buying more!
