I love these fleece shirts. They can be worn 3 seasons of the year. They are so soft, lightweight, but warm. I throw one in my backpack in the spring and fall, and wear them over turtlenecks in the winter around the house. They are perfect for driving on long trips when a winter coat is too bulky. I have 4 of them now and am always ready to get another. The only one I have had trouble with is the cider- colored one--it sheds all over the seat belt. The other 3 have not done that.
I was pleased when I first received the fleece, however over time it has pilled on the inside and has shrunk. I am considering returning it, because this should not have happened. Older LL Bean fleece did not pill or shrink. Bottom line is poor quality fabric.
Disappointed. I've washed my shirt twice in the month it's been here and I swear it shrinks a little more each time. What fell to my hips is now not doing so. The fit elsewhere is fine. The heft is lighter than it was before...on cold days I have to wear one of my husband's quilted shirts over this to stay warm.
I love you LL Bean, however, I too have noticed that over the years that the fitness fleece has changed and not for the better. I agree that they are a bit too long in length and I am NOT a fan of the new polyester fabric on the interior-I LOVED the older models that had the cozy fleece on the inside as well as the outside. I would buy more if you would bring back the "older" version.
