I have been shopping Beans for years. For the last decade I have noticed many changes in the women's clothing. Each year the same items get cheaper and cheaper. This year the last straw has happened. The fitness fleece shirts are slick polyester lining not the same as the Outside. They do not wick away moisture as before. As a matter of fact, the minute you put it on you start to sweat just like polyester socks! Then you remain cold the rest of the day in the shirt. I am layering exactly the same. I am very disappointed! I will be looking to shop elsewhere in the future...I used to do all my shopping at L.L. Bean. Last year the fabric was so cheap that it constantly pilled on seat belts...I still have those and they still pill. The shirts from the years before are fine even today. I buy one for everyone in my family (13) for Christmas each year. Not this year!
I have several of these fleece tops. They are a staple in my wardrobe. They go with everything and are just the right weight to wear over a turtleneck in the house or to layer for skiing. They are good for all seasons including cool summer evenings. I am a petite size so I find the most recent iteration is too long in the sleeves and hits me too far below the waist. This product in petite sizes would be ideal. I love the variety of colors.
this review is for the quarter zip fleec top in the color "Cayenne". this color is not as pictured. The one shown is a deep orange-red. The actual color is rust, an orange-brown
I thought I was ordering a heavier top that I had purchased several years ago, and was a little surprised at the fact this one was so light weight, but then figured it out! Based upon the reviews, I ordered one size up in order to layer under the top, and I am glad I did. Without an underlayer, I am sure my regular LLBean size would be just fine, but even a thin cami changed the look and the feel of the top. This is a top I think would be fine for early Autumn or Spring with or without a layer under it; however, for Winter I would recommend it with a layer. The sleeves were too long for my short arms, but I can either roll them or just shove them up my forearms.
