I just recently bought the cayenne version of this top and I love it. The color is beautiful. When I put it in the closet I counted how many of these tops I have. Oh my! I have 12 of them in all different colors that I have bought over the years. I think I need fitness fleece rehab! These tops are my standard during fall and winter. They are NOT heavy fleece, so if you are looking for something to wear skiing, this top isn't it. But it is great for 40 and 50 degree temps. It is also great for those of us who can't wear wool.
I haven't experienced any of the problems others have noted. I am a plus size, and they fit true to size. I have never had them significantly shrink (and I dry them in the dryer on low), they don't shed or pill, and I love the new inside fabric. I think it helps keep the tops "new look" and shape longer. I am not crazy about the pocket on the sleeve, it serves no purpose for me, but I can deal with it. Suggestion to Bean: I would like a camel and heather gray colored fitness fleece. Can you work on that in a size 1x for next year?
These Pullovers would be completely perfect if they came in a tall size, or were just a couple inches longer in the waist. Unless you are wearing "mom" jeans, the top of your pants will probably not meet the bottom of this fleece.
I have bought several of these over the years and recently as well. Let me say that I have loved them as a light and cozy cover up with jeans.
Randomly I have found that some of these have actually shed, especially in the car with a seatbelt pulled over me. I have read several of the reviews and found I am not the only one to have this happen. I might be returning the last 3 I purchased due to this shedding problem but plan to try them and see if they do shed.
Not all of them do shed so not sure the why's to the fabric issue. I know that the $30.00 price tag is a bit much considering the problem. I have started looking elsewhere for this type of fleece and hope that LL Bean will look into this problem.
My 11 year old has this in pink and I have it in red. The fit is incredibly flattering! How wonderful to get the warmth and softness of fleece in a top that still shows your shape! How rare to find an item loved by two people of such different ages.
It washes well and maintains softness. I have had my red one for nearly two years and it still looks great!
