As a long time Bean fleece owner (many varieties) I have only recently discovered the fitness fleece line. The 100 weight fleece is supersoft and stretchy, but not clingy. There is no restriction of movements at all. It can function alone or as almost any layer in a multi layer system. It washes and dries beautifully with no loss of color. I now own 4 or 5 colors and find myself reaching for them over and over, especially on cold evenings after work, when comfort is mandatory. It even provides enough heat to be able to knock the thermostat down a degree or so. Try them and you'll probably be as hooked on them as I am.
I have several of these fleece pullovers and I love them. I agree with the need for more colors like navy, bright red, and a really different shade of purple. In other words not just the same old varsity purple color but one a little lighter and brighter. I love how this does not pill and comes out of the dryer looking great!
Gave this 3 stars because as others have noted here the Aurora Purple does not qualify. If you hold it up to something pink, it looks purple; if you hold it up to something purple, it looks pink. If it were called something like "blush" there would be no quibble but calling it purple is a little too close to wrong.
I even recalibrated my monitor to check. The color photo does not match the actual color of the fleece. I have five others and they all match the online photos.
Overall, I like these fleece tops; I just bought my sixth one. They are colorful, warm but lightweight, and comfortable. However, LL Bean's Web site has a definite problem with displaying shades of purple. As it's my favorite color, I've run into this problem before.
I practically live in quarter-zip pullovers in the fall and winter. This is the first fleece I've ordered from LL Bean and I will definitely be a return customer. It's the most comfortable, BREATHABLE fleece I've ever owned!
I prefer a more fitted look, so I ordered a size down. I'm 5'5", 130lbs, 34B; the XS fits just perfectly and still hits below my waist. I can easily fit a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. A small would have been too big.
My only complaint is that there are no hand pockets on this fleece.
