Percale vs. Sateen
PostedJune 2, 2012
Proswaxy
These sheets seem to have a waxy coating. I'm not a big fan of sateen and I try to find good-old-fashion-honest-to-goodness cotton sheets. They are so hard to find! I've only washed them once, so they may get softer. I ordered two sets and will be returning one. The color "Lake" appears to be similar to periwinkle in the LLBean photos, but it's really a light blue, with very little purple.

ProsComfortable
I like the sheets as they are comfortable and somewhat wrinkle free but the material wears out quickly. The top end of the sheet is now fraying badly - so I tuck that part in to the bottom of the mattress. Given the price of the sheets i would have anticipated that the material would last longer.
They are not durable

the best sheets ever!

ProsDurable, Comfortable
Well, today I ordered my fifth set of these sheets. I have used them on my bed for as long as I can remember and have one set on a guest bed. We like crisp sheets so higher thread counts, blended fibers and sateen weaves don't work for me.
I have a suggestion that might appeal to someone out there. Skip the dryer and find a way to HANG DRY these sheets!!! Our clothesline needs to be indoors, but I open windows and even put on a fan some days. The problem with creasing at the top hem is not an issue when I turn the top about 6" over the line and stretch it straight. When it dries, it's very acceptable and the sheets are extra CRISP. Of course this means I need to have two sets of sheets because it takes longer to dry, but the resuts are worth it and it's environmentally friendly as well :)

Attractive, comfortable sheets
PostedMay 20, 2012
ProsDurable, Comfortable
I recently purchased this item, along with the matching fitted sheet and pillowcases in Light Blue. The color is indeed very light, a little lighter than I had anticipated/hoped, but still nice. The detail and style is very traditional and simple. The fabric is soft and comfortable. My biggest complaint is that the sheets come out of the dryer with lots of wrinkles. Otherwise, these are great sheets.
