ProsGreat Value, Comfortable, wrinkle free from the dry
About a month ago I ordered a set of king sized 280ct 100%pima cotton sheets, one flat, one fitted and 4 pillowcases. I only buy them on sale, because they are so expensive. I bought the orchid color, which is a warm tone pastel lavender, its gorgeous. I was in a rush for new sheets. The botton fitted of a second set of 360ct 100% cotton sheets had worn through and torn again. (These were NOT LL Bean sheets.)
I had serious concerns about the thread count. My husband has a hyper sensitive spine after three disk surgeries, but the LL Bean sheets were great. The fabric is a touch more substancial than the 360 count sheets, but smooth and flat just as well. I was a bit upset by the size of the fitted sheet, which overhung the bed by 6 inches, but the first hot wash and dry shrunk it to fit perfectly. I have laundered them four times (warm only from then on) and they look and feel as fresh as they did when I got them. I'm sincerely hoping they last longer than the 360 ct sheets.
I did not know what to expect from these sheets after reading some of the negative reviews but since I had been searching for percale sheets for quite a while I thought I'd give them a whirl. And I can't say how glad I am. The sheets are crisp like new after washing and hardly wrinkled at all. I did order a size larger in the flat sheet to make sure I had a lot of "tuck in" room on the bottom and sides. Overall I think these sheets are a great buy.
Like many others I'm not a fan of sateen sheets. 100% cotton percale is my favorite but are hard to find. After much searching I found these. With so many positive reviews plus consumer report's recommendation I suspected these sheets were just what I was looking for and so I decided to give them a try. Ordered 2 twin sets in white for one of my guest rooms. Love the feel. Smooth & cool. Not clingy and hot like sateen sheets can be. Indeed they are just what I hoped for!! With LL Bean's reputation I am confident these sheets are of excellent quality and will last for years. I've ordered two more sets in a different color for the same guest room and will be buying more in the future to replace all the sheets for all 4 beds in my home (can't afford that all at once)!
