Based on the glowing rating by Consumer Reports, I ordered white sheets and pillowcases - 2 fitted sheets, i flat sheet in double bed size, 2 sets of pillowcases in standard size. Because the CR rating created a flood of orders, everything was back-ordered and the items were delivered separately. One fitted sheet was delivered first. It is a sparkling pure white. The other items were delivered at later dates; the color of them is a slightly yellowed off-white that resembles old sheets and pillowcases that have lost their sparkling whiteness. I will bleach them if I continue to dislike the color, but I know that bleaching will weaken the fibers. The fitted sheets are a bit long and a bit wide for my 10-year-old mattress, which makes me wonder if mattress sizes have changed. The fabric is delightfully soft and very comfortable.
A Consumer Report for the best percale led me to buy these LLB sheets. Beautifully hemstitched with silky, cool, crisp expensive-French-bedlinen feel, these sheets feel more like a 400 threadcount product. I love to be able to iron the top half of the top sheet and see that the wrinkles do not reappear as with other sheets. The Martha Stewart perfectionist of me is so pleased with these, that I must order more. To maximize sleeping peace, we use individual twin topsheets and blankets on our CalKing bed and these sheets are the favorites. Sorry not to find Xlong twin and CalKing fitted sheets available as well!
Recently received these sheets and washed them before putting them on the bed. They washed beautifully and are absolutely lovely, look and feel. I ordered the striped style, and they are yarn-dyed and beautifully made. I can't believe that other reviewers have rated them as less than perfect. I'm now about to order a set of solid color.
