These sheets were exactly what I was looking for! So very pleased! I have the bean flannel sheets (4 years old that are still perfect!) that I have in my bed from Oct-April, and was looking for a set of summer sheets that were just as comfortable. These are perfect! I ordered the top sheet in a Queen because I like a longer and wider sheet. And the full fitted is perfect for my deep pocket mattress. Cool, crisp and soft comfort! LL bean you did it again!
The fitted sheet is full enough to fit easily over our pillow-top mattress with no tugging, and the top sheet is long enough that even my husband's long and restless legs don't manage to untuck it.
Ordered these with trepidation after reading one negative review. I was pleasantly surprised that after laundering these pillowcases, they were still smooth and crisp. I ordered the Orchid sheet set also. Finally found great percale sheets! Thank you LL Bean
A few years ago I started searching for smooth, crisp percale sheets to replace our dying 1990s Wamsutta percale sheets. After looking around quite a bit and being put off by what was available, I was very pleased to find acceptable percale at Bean's over the last two years. Not quite as good as our 1990s Wamsutta, and definitely not as good as the Wamsutte Supercale of earlier decades (which we still have for our guest bed - hand me downs from the in laws), but the Bean sheets were far better than anything else I'd seen.
So as the budget allowed over the last two years or so, I've built up our new King size sheet stock, and began replacing the ancient pillowcases.
Much to my dismay, this last order of percale pillowcases was NOT the quality you had just last year. Thin, scratchy, just not right. I am keeping them because I don't feel right returning something I have used which isn't truly defective, just disappointing, and hoping that multiple washings might wear off the scratchiness a bit. I guess I'm not completely surprised, as the last sheet I ordered (fall 2010) didn't seem quite as crisp and smooth as the ones from 2009. I hoped it was my imagination. The pillowcases are definitely scratchy and "warm" to the touch, however (even my teenage son feels it). So - disappointed, especially for the price.
I really hope you can get your suppliers to provide you with the quality of percale you had two years ago!
