I love the feel and quality of these pillowcases but I have a queen sized bed and queen sized pillowcases. Queen sized sheets are available but not queen sized pillowcases. Thus, my only choice was to buy king sized pillowcases which are way to long and will have to be altered.
If queen sized sheets are offered, queen sized pillow cases should also be offered.
I read some of the reviews before buying, and was interested to note that some said crisp and some said slippery. Now that I have them, I have to agree with the second opinion. They are not what I think of as Percale, which is hard to define but has a little 'tooth'. Not rough, but not slippery either.
I also noticed that some reviewers mentioned tears - either already in the sheets or were easy to tear. I must say that the fabric looks and feels pretty indistructable to me!
I have washed them in a hot wash and this hasn't made them more crisp. I dried them on the line in hot hot sun (in Bermuda) which perhaps was a mistake, as I think they would iron better if slightly damp. I haven't yet dried them in a dryer.
Overall, I would say the quality is good, but little disappointed that not more of what I think of percale. I use them for tourist guest apartments, and suspect they will last forever!
The Windowpane sheets have exceeded my expectations. The deep-pocket fitted sheets easily fit onto the mattress. The pillow cases are large enough to slip over pillows. Have washed these sheets 4 times and haven't found anything to complain about.
I researched online sheets prior to buying. Lots of cheaper sheets were described as too thin, pilling with wear or wash, uncomfortable. LL Bean's 280 thread count percale sheets were top rated by consumer reports for the best percale sheets, and that is why I purchased these. They are crisp percale yet buttery soft, just the right thickness, the king size is generous on my king size bed. I am thrilled with this purchase!
