I have had my waterhog mat for four years now. It is the best mat ever. It is located in a very high traffic area and it still looks brand new. All I do is vacuum it . I plan on purchasing a couple more. I highly recommend. To those who are not satisfied, contact Customer Service. LL Bean's Customer Service is top notch.
I don't like this mat. It sheds a alot when new and took a while to stop shedding. The color was different than I expected. Just don't like the texture.

Not Suitable for Ourdoors

We had a similar problem with this mat holding water. We were replacing an older waterhog that had gotten a bit worn and were attracted to the nicer look of this mat. But it is located in an exposed area and got totally soaked and would not drain. I really don't think this item should be rated for ourdoor use. We are using this mat in the doorway from our garge to the house, which is protected.

The long fibers in this mat are designed to look like natural cocoa fibers – without the cocoa's tendency to attract mold and break down rapidly. As you've found, however, the longer length of these fibers tends to make them drain more slowly than our standard Waterhog mats.
