This clock has personality galore! Larger than I thought it would be from photos, the RED (not nickel) color is irresistable. Numerals are perfect size for my eyes, same vintage as clock--which is why I bought it....so I can see time in bedroom and bathroom. Reminds me of childhood. Only drawback is alarm is so quiet that it's only good for light sleepers or early birds.
Bought this (mine is off white) because I liked the style for an added decorative touch, and the fact that it runs on batteries. On those features, it delivers. Two things i am disappointed in: It says it is a luminous dial, but, it is faint - would prefer better visabilty; and there is something a little off with the hands. Thus, in the dark, it is not easy to tell the time because of the dim illumination as well as the hour hand being a bit off. Still, i do like the clock.
