Pluses: beautiful, heavy metal case, lovely bowed glass front, nice face, hands, loud alarm. Minuses: movement failed in first one after two years (lost an hour a day). Second one--movement failed in the first two months. shafts for adjusting time, alarm, turning alarm on/off very short, difficult to grasp. Great DIY project for someone who wants to install a decent movement. Not Recommended.

I love the appealing look of this clock! Had an old original, as a kid. I use it for easy time check. Prefer battery alarm clocks, due to power outage, at times. Bought 2, four years ago. Moslty for the look. Have 1 Celadon, & 1 Periwinkle. They add nice color to my rooms. The periwinkle clock brightens the guest/grandchild room, with LLB Flying Geese multi quilt! Love them.
I have this big ben alarm clock in the green and I just love it. It keeps wonderful time and is quiet....no loud tick tick tick. Looks great with all my collectables.

I don't use this as an alarm clock--just use it during the daylight hours. It's great--clear, simple, easy to read. And it's nice to just "go back in time" to a simpler era before the plastic digital junk we now depend on.
