I was so disappointed when I received this clock. I loved the look of it, however that is about it. The knob on back is practically impossible to turn because it is so short (I had to get a pair of pliers to set the time), and the alarm does not go off at the time it is supposed to - it goes off 15 minutes after the fact - and you can hardly hear it! In addition, it does not illuminate as stated. I usually love all LL Bean products, I am very surprised they are still selling this.
I love the look of this clock, the ticking (I love white noise), and the fact that the clock is battery-operated. The alarm is not working consistently, though, and that's a problem! I hate to return the clock but the price we paid for the clock sure doesn't make it worth it if the alarm doesn't work!
I bought this clock for our oldest son. When I opened it, I immediately loved the red color. The weight is heavy. I used it as an alarm clock before giving it to him, and have to say the sound of the it was truly old fashioned fun, and the volume of the ring is perfect! I plan on purchasing two more at least. Tired of the digital radio alarm clock, our son loves using it, and has wanted one like this for sometime.
I love the look of the clock, however it's does fall short. 1. you need a screw driver to take the back off and insert the battery. 2. Very difficult to set, the knobs on the back they are much to short, you can hardly set the time. 3. The setting of the alarm is difficult, the numbers are so tiny. 4. It stated it illuminated, it does not. That was very disappointing 5. Ringer is very low. I probably should have sent it back.
