I ordered the coat over the weekend and received it today. While I live in Maine, I thought the time from ordering to arriving at my home was excellent. I loved the style of the coat, because I wanted something I could wear with a pair of jeans or to the office.
I read the reviews before ordering and wanted to order the coat in a petite large, but they did not have the periwinkle in that size. Where I tend to be in between sizes I decided to order the petite XL and hoped it would fit. The shoulders and sleeves fit wonderfully, the chest is a bit roomy, but not to the point I am swimming in the coat, however the bottom of the coat isn't tapered and because I am smaller waisted, the bottom of the coat tends to stick out.
I haven't really tested this in true cold weather yet, but we are due for some sub zero temps tonight so I will test it then. I seem to think the gap in the waist on the bottom will be letting the cold air in.
I haven't decided if I am going to return the coat yet. Sadly, they are out of the periwinkle color. If I were to order the petite large I am not sure it wouldn't fit properly in the shoulders or bust. So I am slightly disappointed.

This coat is warm! Great for bitter, cold, windy days. It's very light and comfortable, doesn't feel bulky at all. Pay attention to the temperature rating on this coat, it will be too warm to wear on warmer days if you're wearing sweaters or fleece underneath. Best winter coat I've ever owned and it looks great. I love that it's washable. I've washed mine several times already, due to its light color, and it comes out great every time! Just follow the tag instructions and you'll have no problems. I definitely recommend this coat!

This jacket is true to size. I got a Medium and I'm 5'6" 150 lbs. I wear size 12 pants. I've been out in single digit temps. [standing still] and was kept warm wearing only a thin, long-sleeved shirt. With only that on, my arms were a little cool. If I had a sweater or layers on, I'm sure it would be fine. As for the comment about the cuffs being to loose, my experience is that you will also be wearing gloves, so that solves that prob. [They were a little loose.] If you really want a WARM jacket, get the Rugged Ridge Parka. It is waterproof and was warm enough wearing just a t-shirt. It's definitely more airtight than this jacket. However, I like the look of this one for going more dressy as well as casual. I wish this one had the fleece lining on the neck like the Rugged Ridge Parka, but it's okay. Pretty wind-proof too. I also like that the fur could be removed as I didn't care for that.

I love LL bean product but this one is special as I have problem with the hoods with other jackets but this hood fits perfectly. Very warm and nice style. You get good customer service with LL bean.
