My jacket arrived yesterday just before our big snow storm, as I hoped it would! I just finished shoveling for over an hour and am toasty warm on top. This jacket it is the best! XL petite was just the right fit for my body type. Ribbed cuffs inside sleeves kept the snow from falling in. Length came to mid-hip so from there on up, I'm not frozen to the bone. I love the fact that it keeps me warm without being bulky! Thanks again, LLBean for your great products and service!

I have worn this coat for a week now and it has already been through two winter storms. It keeps me perfectly toasty and dry. The hood is wonderful. The faux fur helps keep snow, sleet, and rain out of the eyes. My only suggestion is that LL Bean help secure the hood more firmly to the coat. While the hood is secured firmly via a zipper, it does not go completely all around the collar. The two outer corners of the hood are secured with small buttons, one of which has already fallen off. Other than that slight glitch, the coat is an incredible purchase!
This is the nicest jacket I have ever owned. It is very lightweight and extremely warm. I probably should have bought a smaller size and I keep checking the website in case it shows up again as I would buy another. It is generously cut, you can wear a sweater underneath (not that you'd ever need one, it's so warm), it is just a little bit below hip length so you are covered when you bend. I'm 5'4 and it's perfect length. There is only a little bit of velcro near the removeable hood. As you all know, velcro ruins sweaters, gloves, hats, scarves, even shirts if it catches on to them. I search out clothing with out velcro for that purpose. The hood is removeable, the fur accent on the hood is also removeable. There are soft cotton cuffs inside the arms which not only keep you warm but also prevent snow from getting up your sleeve when shoveling. Can't say enough great things about this jacket! It's stylish yet functional.
I bought this jacket to keep me worm in Georgia winters, which can get into the teens and twenties. I was very pleased when I discovered that the faux fur comes off (and the hood stays on). I did not care for the fur. My only complaint is that the jacket is not form-fitting. I wish it would taper in on the sides to avoid the "box" look when I wear it. I bought this jacket in white. The white attracts a lot of dirt and chin make-up.
