I recently ordered this coat and I love it. It keeps me nice and warm and I love the hood. I had ordered a down jacket from LLBean last year and loved it but it did not have a hood so I ordered this coat. I love LLBean coats for warmth. They keep me nice and toasty on my winter commute to work as well as outdoor activities.

I bought this jacket to keep me warm while watching the Redskins-Giants game. The weather was in the low 30's, but it felt colder as it was also raining a bit, and at night it got quite windy. The jacket passed the test with flying colors! I wore a cotton turtleneck, and no hat. Aside from being cute and feminine the hood kept my head warm, I needed no hat. I like the fact that the hood can be extended for best fit, which helped me immensely to block the wind that kept blowing during the game. I also bought a similar one for my mother, who spent NY11 in New York. She was happy about the jacket because she did not feel cold at all. I am extremely satisfied. My next purchase will be the longer one, to protect more body parts from the blistering cold. Thanks L.L. Bean. You rock!

I purchased this coat in brown and white. This coat is absolutely the most perfect coat to wear in the winter. I've cut down my Christmas tree in this coat, walked the Rails to Trails (with the hood and collar buttoned up with the velcro tabs), and wear it to work every day. It's the first coat I grab. It just feels comfortable, warm and lightweight. I'm never cold in this coat. No Michelin Man look; I'm a size 12. No tugging anywhere from fitting improperly. It even has a couple of inner pockets for storing items; one large one with a zipper; a smaller cell phone sized one with a velcro closure. It also washes well in cold water, NO SOFTENER (because of the down), and dry it in the fluff cycle warm heat. The white one needs to be washed more for obvious reasons. So, around the pockets and sleeves, I put a little detergent directly on these areas and let them sit for a couple hours and then wash. Perfectly clean. I would like to see this coat in colors like navy, LL Bean red, and Elderberry. I also love the Baxter Parka in Elderberry.
Looking for casual comfort, warmth, and light weight feel, this jacket fits the bill. It is longer and looser than my other down jacket. I am generally a size 14 and I ordered the large size. It is more boxy and loose around the waist and hips than I would like but bigger is ok for just working and walking outside. I would prefer some drawstrings inside to adjust the fit and tighten up the waist and bottom edge.
