I just love this Jacket. We just got a huge Winter storm in Montana and this Jacket came in handy. We have always below zero weather and this jacket is exactly what I need and so far it has kept me warm as toast. Fits perfectly and the color is exactly as described. I would recommend this coat to anyone. The hood comes off if you like also.
If this coat had been at least 2 inches, or preferably 5 inches, longer and maybe a winter white (something whiter than it was), it would have been perfect. So many coats I try on over bulky winter clothes make me feel as though I am bound up, this coat gave me room to feel comfortable.
Finally had a chance to wear this coat a couple of times last week when it was mid 20s when I left my house. I love that it has a 2-way zipper so that it is comfortable when sitting in the car. Was certainly warm enough. Very ample room--I'm 5'2", 115 pounds and normally take a small, sometimes need a medium in a winter coat to have enough room for layering, but needed an extra small in this jacket and there's still plenty of room.
What I don't like about it is the Velcro closure on the hood. Knowing now that it's there, I can see it in the picture, but it's not in the description. It does lie pretty flat and since I wear my scarf inside my coat, I don't anticipate a lot of damage to my scarf. But women who wear their scarves outside their jackets might want to consider something else. I can't understand Bean's fascination with Velcro. I didn't buy the more expensive Wind Challenger jacket or the Gortex raincoat because of their Velcro cuffs. I'd rather pay a little more for snaps that won't wreck my clothes.
Ordered this jacket back in the Fall and haven't had a chance to wear it until today. Temp dropped into the 30's and the wind is howling at 30 mph. Took the dog for a walk. The wind did not penetrate and it was ultra warm, just like it says. This is going to be a GREAT jacket for our Polar Vortex WI Winter!!
