The jacket is beautiful, well made and fits perfectly. There is ample room to wear it over a bulky sweater. L.L.Bean items are a little higher in cost, but the quality of everything I purchase is well worth the additional cost. I would definitely recommend this jacket to a friend.
I ordered the jacket in spruce. It came fast, fit perfect and color was just as shown online. BUT - the fake fur looked like road kill. It did not appear fluffy as shown online. Not even close. I tried fluffing it up. I thought it was flattened from shipping, but combing it, running in air only in the dryer, shaking it - to no avail - is flat and parted showing the liner, looking so fake. Fortunately I have a genuine fur piece from an old coat, and I retrofitted the fur. 100% improvement. I wish LLBean would give you the option for added cost to have real fur. Either that, or use a better quality faux fur. I have seen excellent imitations before.
Ordered this coat for a trip to Wisconsin in December. It arrived quickly and I was able to track progress of shipment easily. Just opened it and tried it on. Perfect fit, love the double zip and snap closures. Hood is a little big but if its snowing I think this might be perfect. I ordered it in brown and its very nice. I ordered a XL, Im 5'5" and my chest is 43". This fits perfect and not tight or too loose. Its comfortable and light weight, should pack easily but Im guessing I will be wearing it but you never know with our Texas weather. Either way Im very happy with my purchase.
I bought jacket in size small, as I am a slim size 6. This jacket has a lot of nice features including storm cuffs, zippered pockets, and hood. Sleeves are perfect length--well below wrists. Has relaxed fit, but still looks trim. I bought chocolate brown, and I love this color. I should have read description more carefully because with relaxed fit--suitable for layering--it is slightly flared at the bottom which allows updraft of cold air (when wearing only one sweatshirt underneath). There is no drawstring cord at either waist or bottom hem to block air. Jacket is very good quality. I did return in, and I may reorder in XS. Good especially if you like to wear two layers underneath. Jacket keeps you warm.
