I live in cold weather climate and its been subzero temps all week - this jacket keeps me warm for short periods outside such as running errands etc. I wear a sweater underneath. I would not wear this jacket for extended periods outdoors tho. Overall great quality jacket w/ many features comparable to a much higher priced jacket. I'm 5'7 135# and the medium size fits great, arms are long enough and it hits about 4" below the hip. I ordered dark raspberry, a beautiful rich color.

Warm, not heavy, Pros: removable hood; front zipper w/snapped storm flap; snow blockers on inside of sleeves which are not so tight as to strangle your wrists! nice color (hard to decide which to get!); Cons: hood is big for me but I will probably wear a hat instead; biggest problem - whoever decided to put an inside pocket high up near your breasts??? I like to keep my wallet in an inside pocket and this is a BIT uncomfortable! Place it farther down! and on the left inside - most people are right-handed and would reach into the pocket with their right hand - this pocket is on the right inside and difficult to reach into. And I got a size larger than normal - it is fine with or without an inner layer. (I am 5'3', 140 lb. and got a petite large).
I live in Michigan and as everyone knows, it gets cold here! I bought this coat hoping it would be warmer than the many other coats I have purchased and boy, was I ever surprised! It is fabulous! It is lightweight but so warm. This is the first coat I have ever owned that has sleeves long enough for my arms. I am 5'7" and most sleeves hit above my wrists. This one comes past my wrists. I am hoping once we are in the dead of winter the coat continues to be a winner for me.
