I absolutely love this jacket, it still looks brand new a year later! It's warm but not bulky, a definite must have for these cold Iowa winters. My only complaint is the buttons that hold the hood on popped off, and the hood sometimes unzips a little without the extra support. All in all, a great buy.
I love this coat. I've had it for almost 3 years now. I think it does great in cold weather....around 20 degrees or even below that. I housebroke our lab in February in Ohio and would wear this coat at 3am when it was 0 degrees outside - it is warm. I've washed it a TON of times (I bought the white coat), and it still looks great and cleans up well in my washing machine.
This jacket works fine for me when the temp outside is over 52. But it does not keep me warm when the temp is under 52. Especially on windy, cold days. The wind goes right through this jacket! I can only wear this jacket when it's not that cold outside.
i place an order for the Ultrawarm Hooded Jacket Misses' Regular in Large. i was nervous of getting a large since i normally wear a medium, but i would be wearing winter pull-over sweaters, sweatshirts. the colors were another thought, so i chose one of my favorite colors: Chocolate Brown. the picture doesn't show how pertty and rich the color is. the down is a premium 650 fill and is very toasty warm. you have zip pockets that are deep enough and a detachable hood with faux fur trim, but the faux fur feels soft not stiff. the jacket hits below the hips, just above the thighs, this is good since it will keep your kidneys warm. the one good thing i like, is the washing instructions, no pricey dry cleaners. detach faux fur (this needs to be hand washed, i use woolite, lay flat to dry & shake out to fluff) make sure the jacket is zipped, snapped, and any ties fixed so they don't get bunched up and lost. wash cool with mild detergent, and ring out excess water(down can hold alot, even if it had been on a spin cycle for a minute). tumble dry on low or fluff setting with 2 tennis balls to help distribute the down evenly. I have mine in a space bag to keep out mold, mildew, musty smells, moisture, moths (they are a big fan of down). the quality is superb, it feels like a $300.00 jacket. i got it for $99.00 when it went on sale. I live in Fl, but am moving home to Ohio and right now it is down in the 20's. i'll be leaving by March 8th of this year. I'll be getting some wear out of it and next winter alot of wear.
