I was eager to write a review for this jacket. It is the lightest,softest most comfortable jacket that I have owned in years. The down creates the perfect degree of warmth without being too warm. It is so soft that you feel no restriction on your arms while wearing. It is very light. The hood and it's attachment to the jacket are so well constructed. The hood zippers on and is hidden on both sides from view by a placket. Very, very satisfied and well worth the average cost.
The zip-off faux fur on the hood extends the number of months I can wear this, and the zip-off hood is great for sunny days. The interior cell phone pocket is deep and secure. The knit cuffs aren't as wind-proof as I'd like, but the sleeves are long enough for 5'11" me. The lining is great for easily slipping over sweaters, but the down isn't as "ultra-warm" as I expected. Great fabric: I got paint on the sleeve and with quick action and oil soap, it came right off. Liked this enough I bought one for my elderly mother.
Took this parka to Cape Horn and the Falklands. It kept me very warm while others were freezing. It is light weight so doesn't weigh you down. I love it, but haven't washed it yet.
I absolutely love this jacket! I've found that it keeps me comfortably warm without making me overheat, while also keeping me from getting chilled in cold snowy weather. It has wonderfully soft hidden cuffs which gently hug your wrists (I have a coat from another company where the cuffs are so tight as to make me avoid wearing the coat). I wanted a coat with a hood for those days when it's snowing and blowing, but don't like always having a hood hanging on my shoulders - the hood is easily removable, as is the fur trim, which gives you additional style options. 2 generous zip-pockets outside (hidden in the seams), plus an extra zip pocket inside, and a velcro closure pocket for your cell phone or iPod/MP3. player. The coat is slightly fitted, and true to size - I'm a little overweight, but it's comfortable without feeling too snug, with just enough room to comfortably add an extra layer if I ever need to.
