I really wanted to like this jacket. BUT - the material seems flimsy, not nearly as substantial as a previous coat I bought years ago from a competitor. The fit was loose even though I went by the size chart, and the fur on the hood was weird. I considered trying a smaller size, but the fabric was the deal breaker for me. I ordered a different style and am hoping for the best.
My boyfriend bought me this parka a few weeks ago, I am torn if I should send it back or not. It fits ok but it is just is not warm enough (It's ok if you are really moving around shoveling snow or snow shoeing but otherwise this jacket does not hold up to its promises) Good to temps up to -30 below? No way! Temps have been in the teens lately and without really thick layering underneath this jacket, forget it! Maybe I should invested in the Baxter State parka (-45 F) but after buying this jacket b/c it was advertised to handle temps to -30 below, and actually feeling what it can handle, I am not going to buy any more jackets from L.L. Bean.
